  • Return to Church Update

Until further notice, we will continue the schedule for worship at 9:00AM each Sunday.  There is no bible study at the facility. Bible study and worship services can be viewed on Facebook, YouTube, or Website.

We are seated in distances and have had good worship services. Please be aware of the new opening and be sure to wear your mask. As of now no date has been scheduled to discontinue the drive-up. We are taking temperatures upon entry, and also providing hand sanitizer and masks if you don't have one.

    Thank You,

    The North Shore Leadership

  • Coronavirus Update - Return to Church

We are living in a very unique but important moment.  The situation around the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is constantly unfolding in the Chicagoland area and the Leadership at North Shore have been monitoring and considering all information that comes out.

First, we would like to commend all of you for your undying faithfulness to the Lord and his Church despite these trying times.  Let us continue to rely on the trues of the eternal scriptures as penned in 1 Peter 4:19, “Wherefor let them that suffer according to the will of God commit to keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.”

God willing………the time is approaching that we may return to fellowship with one another as intended.  We should all accept by now that the process for return to normal will be peculiar and uncharted.  However, as long as we keep the faith and move together in love this giant will too fall.  In the following paragraphs we have outlined expected processes and guidelines to keep one another safe as we return to optimal worship at our home congregation, North Shore Church of Christ.

We have planned to open our doors on June 21, 2020.  It is proposed as a “soft” opening for those who choose to attend.  The “drive-up” communion option will be available through July 5, 2020.  We have set as our “hard” date for regular services to begin as being July 12, 2020.

During all of North Shore’s services there will be guidelines to abide by, so please be flexible and commit to working with Leadership with the spirit of love and patience toward our common goal.

    1. Morning Worship will begin at 9 AM and conclude at 11 AM.
    2. The northside parking lot, by the playground, will be delegated for cars participating in “drive-up” options.
    3. The south doors by the office will remain locked until further notice.
    4. Evening Service, Bible Classes, Ministry Meetings, and other Programming such as NA meetings will remain on hold until further notice.  Please note that all recorded lessons by Bro. Atwater will continue on You Tube, North Shore Church of Christ website, and Facebook.
    5. Upon entry into the building you must wear a facial mask throughout the service.  If you do not have a facial mask you will be provided one.  Gloves will be made available upon request.
    6. Your temperature will be taken and provided you test 100 degrees or below you may continue in the building.  If your temperature is above 100 degrees you will not be permitted entry into the building and will be provided a packet consisting of your communion, offering envelop, and bulletin. Again, this act will be sacrificial to keep one another as safe as possible under the current circumstances.
    7. Once you enter into the building you will be given a bulletin, communion, and offering envelope.
    8. All seating will be at the direction of the Ushers, so please be considerate as they do their duty to seat in accordance to the standards of social distancing, health needs, and their discretion.  Please note all family members who reside in the same household are to be seated together.  The only exception will be those directly assigned duties by leadership.  Children will not be permitted to maneuver around the building without the company of their parent.
    9. All water fountains are de-activated. If you have a health-related need for water a bottled water will be made available via an Usher.
    10. Please note the cleaning of highly touched areas will be disinfected prior to service, mid-service, and after service.  Some of these areas will include upstairs bathrooms (downstairs will be closed), pews, doorknobs and handles.
    11. Upon conclusion of Worship the congregation will be asked to be removed by row as directed by Leadership.  Patience and compliance will be required.
    12. Upon exiting the sanctuary, a waste basket will be present for your communion cups and a collection basket will be available for your offering.

We know there will be some challenges when we get together such as the lack of physical hugs and handshakes, but those are small costs in comparison to bounty of Lessons and Love the Lord has laid out in the absence of one another…….Hallelujah North Shore!!!!!!
